Leading Lady Dr. Judith Resnik

The Second U.S. woman in space, Dr. Judith Resnik is often overlooked and omitted from discussion on foundational and groundbreaking women in history. Dr. Resnik was lost upon liftoff during her ascent to Space for her second mission, aboard The Challenger.  She was taken far too soon, and the world was sadly left with a massive loss of Dr. Judith Resnik’s incredible thirst for knowledge and her desire to explore space, but above all, her unbridled passion to be the best at what she did.

Dr. Resnik was one of six original candidates selected for the first round of female applicants for NASA’s Women in Space programming, and as a member of the original six in the first class, she will forever have paved a road of excellence for all who follow her. 

Dr. Resnik is honored by every woman who bravely takes on the challenge of finding the answers to questions that can only be answered in space.
